The Ton Porno Du Jour – A Book Review

The third installment of the hugely popular Tengah poetry series, Tengah Luang Bogen, called Tengah Luang Bogen (The Book of the Stone Dance) by Luang Vuatthai was released in May 2020. Like its predecessor, The Sky is the Limit, this book is aimed at first-time readers who may not be familiar with Thai Opera before and who may not be familiar with Luang Vuatthai’s earlier poetry and art-forms such as paintings, metal sculpture and folk music. Luang Vuatthai is a name that immediately reminds one of legendary artist and political activist, Sukhothai Phu. This name also conjures up images of Ngan Chai Khan and his famous exploits with Ngan, the tiger, in the late 1960s. This story is told through the lens of the young women of the town of Khom Rachad, where the opera takes place. In keeping with tradition, the women all sing a folk song called Khmer dialect, which is a seductive and suggestive blend of Khmer tunes with English.

As in previous installments of the Tengah Luang Bogen series, the story kicks off with the story of Ngan, a young woman from a poor family in rural Phu Si. She has been forced to marry a wealthier man because her older sister passed away. Now Ngan is free to pursue her dream of becoming a dancer. However, when she arrives at a dance camp run by the well known and respected Ngan Chai Khan (the same who appeared in The Sky is the Limit), she is shocked to find that there is no more space for traditional dancers on the stage and that she must perform here. Fuming and filled with rage, Ngan expresses her desire to leave, but her father, concerned for her safety insists that she stay and give him a chance to change her mind.

Ngan’s father then decides to celebrate Ngan’s coming to the dance camp by inviting several well known local dignitaries, including the ambassador’s son, the famous Khmer Rouge commander Ratchabophit, along with his wife, the actress Winnie. The celebration quickly falls flat with everyone except Ratchabophit who is convinced that Ngan is too naive to understand that people have wronged her family for years. When Ngan arrives at the party in her pink dress, the shocked audience cannot believe what she is wearing.

But this is only the first of the fantastical adventures of Ngan as she embarks on a dangerous odyssey in search of her long lost father and sister. In the process she gets herself tangled in the web of intrigue that is the colorful realm of Phu Si where she must make alliances and friendships to survive and find her missing family. And although Ngan certainly would like to forget her past, the opportunity to do so in order to create a more positive future lies ahead of her in the form of the upcoming nuptials between her heroines: Winnie and Ratchabophit.

Although Ngan may have grown up a lot quicker than the previous two lovers, it is not to her benefit to wallow in the past. She needs to remind herself of what she has lost and the responsibility that lies ahead of her in the beautiful world of Phu Si. The Ton porno Du jour is the perfect novel for those women out there who need a little break away from their own life. If you have ever wondered how a girl from a poor background could come to be the happily married woman of a rich family then this is the book for you.

Even if you are just looking for a little excitement in your sex life then this book will be just right for you. For the rest of you ladies out there, you might like to read about the fact that Ngan is actually quite capable of achieving things that even Princess Diana cannot! If you are interested in finding out what all the fuss is about with Ngan and Ratchabophit, then this is the book for you. You will be happy to know that the reviews on this book are all positive. In fact, the majority of the readers are so happy with this particular book that they are buying it right now to read it with their partner.
